I wrote a guest post for Sumiko Saulson’s blog the other day – if you haven’t checked out her work, you really should. This is a gal who knows her horror. It’s always hard for me to think of topics for guest posts, even if I’m given a theme or general idea. Still, as I’ve been outlining and thinking things ahead lately (and since we’re crawling towards October), I got to thinking about my inspirations, which is actually a lot of literary short horror. So, I put on my thinking cap about what makes a great horror story, plus the challenges of writing horror with a reduced word count. I tried to think of the important elements and also some of the things that inspired me as I started writing it. I put them all together and came up with this guest post on writing short horror. Take a look and see what you think, if you agree, or where you weigh in on the subject! While you’re there, check out Sumiko’s blog!
