With all the hub-bub about In the Red, I don’t want you to think that I haven’t been doing anything else. I have a few projects in the works (some I can talk about, some I can’t), and I’m really excited about where life is going. Definitely working on some stories for a few different places, so I hope to increase my reign of terror into the coming year.
Also working on the manuscript for another book – this one will be the chick lit/horror blend thing that I’ve been working on for a while, so as things progress with that, I’ll definitely let you know. I’m also waiting to hear on when Bedtime Stories for Girls will go into print, but as far as I know that’s still a go, as well, in case you want to check out some of my less dark material.
As a bit of a tidbit, though, I would like everyone to start thinking about Christmas. Why? Because that’s when my next release comes out! I’m teaming up with Mocha Memoirs Press to bring you the tale of Holly and Ivy, kind of a chick lit meets faeries story.
This is the blurb I’m working with so far:
After losing her job and her boyfriend, Holly returns to her parents’ farm. Embarrassed and hopeless, she doesn’t expect to bump into a forgotten childhood friend that wasn’t supposed to exist. Ivy is not only a dryad, but she lives in the pine trees Holly’s family grows to sell at Christmas. As the old friends reconnect, Ivy not only shares her strong opinions, but gives Holly a charm that will change both their lives. As days melt into weeks and the seasons change, Holly’s life magically turns around. Christmas not only brings surprises, but a choice for the human woman. What’s more important: stability, success, and love, or keeping a promise to an old friend?
It definitely combines a lot of elements I love about Christmas stories: warmth, magic, and possibility…and adds in some light chick lit romance and some tough decisions. After all, life isn’t always fair, and neither is magic. Intrigued? Then keep an eye out here, because more info will be coming!
